Susan Nason, Parenting Counselor & Public Speaker

Susan approaches parenting as a spiritual practice, a practice of compassion, gratitude, self-reflection and connection. She appreciates that as we parent our children; we also “re-parent” ourselves, and can come to an understanding of how our upbringing impacts each of us, and its impact on our own parenting style. She greatly enjoys exploring this dynamic as she teaches effective parenting skills to help parents of children of all ages.

For over 30 years Susan Nason has been a facilitator of the Faber/Mazlish “How To Talk So Kids Will Listen, How To Listen So Kids Will Talk” and “Siblings Without Rivalry” workshops. Susan brings her expertise that has been honed and developed during her career working with children in a school setting where her responsibilities include counseling and communicating with parents as the school’s Parent Educator as well as her position as Assistant to the Director. Susan has a thriving domestic and international Spiritual Counseling practice specializing in exploring conscious parenting employing spiritual, therapeutic and practical approaches to the challenges of raising children.

Susan is available to counsel parents in groups, privately, during home visits and by phone. You will find her counseling style to be supportive, helpful and informative. She facilitates workshops at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, All Souls Church School, First Presbyterian Church Nursery School, Barrow Street Nursery School, Rockefeller Children’s School, Ross Global Academy; in addition, she conducts teacher trainings in and around the tri-state area. She is a frequent speaker for the Parents’ League and other organizations.

Susan is an ordained Interfaith Minister and available to officiate at weddings, rituals and ceremonies.

Most importantly, she brings her love and compassion of being a proud mother and ecstatic grandmother to her work with parents and children.
